Whatever art itch you need to scratch, there’s something on for you. Bigger performances take place in the Concert Auditorium, which has 1,289 seats. Join the crowd and enjoy the show. Concertgebouw looks pretty different compared to other buildings around. It was designed by Paul Robbrecht and Hilde Daem in 2002 when Bruges was the European Capital of Culture. The inside is also minimalistic. Architecture lovers might want to drop by at least for a quick look.

Concertgebouw doesn’t just host tons of art performances. They open up the concert halls and roof terrace for you to explore. Book a tour and view the modern art installed throughout the building to experience a lively gallery. From Belgian to international artists, you’ll see and learn about it all on the guided tour. Or go along on your own, armed with a brochure to discover the concert hall at your own pace.

On top of artsy goodness, the tour is also interactive. Shout and sing in the echo room, then make your own music in the interaction room. Ever wanted to be a music composer? Now’s your chance. Check out the music composing software on the computers here to give it a go. Or let the kids play around with the sound sculptures - the more you move, the more sound you get.

  • Guided Tour: guided tours last about 50 mins and are available in English, Dutch and French. You can also explore on your own along with a brochure to make sure you get all the info you need. Kid Friendly: bring the kiddos along for the children’s trail. Children get a postcard and stamps to stamp off what they see. Explore together to see what you find. Tips and Tricks

  • It’s a pretty big concert hall, so the 2nd floor balcony seats are a bit away from the stage. Still, there’s good sound so just be ready with your binoculars

  • By Car: underground parking at Centrum 't Zand, right under the Concertgebouw
  • By Bus: bus stop Brugge, 't Zand right outside the Concertgebouw. Bus 42 stops here.
  • By Train: 10 min walk from Bruges train station. Cross through the square, onto the main road, and turn left onto the path via Albert Park
