Get bedazzled by the jewelry at the DIVA Museum. Do you love jewellery? This museum is tailor made for you.

People often expect this to be a diamond museum and to learn about Antwerp’s history as a diamond trade port. However, DIVA is more or less an interactive museum of jewellery and silver. There’s a little bit about diamonds, but it’s probably not what you’re looking for if you’re interested in Antwerp’s history. Jewellery lovers or jewellery designers will probably have a good time though.

It should only take you about an hour or so to see everything so it’s worth a look if you’re on a museum crawl or love jewellery.

Important note: You have to book your tickets online because of corona restrictions.

  • DIVA has 6 rooms, but the highlight of the museum is the replica diamond vault. The vault displays drawers of diamond replicas in all shapes and sizes to show you how diamonds are graded
  • You get an audio guide and brochure as you go into the museum. The audio guide was written by director and author Frank Van Laecke
  • The audio guide weaves a story through the 6 rooms of the objects through the character Jerome, a butler. It’s a unique experience and good if you enjoy stories, but maybe not something every museum goer is looking for
  • The brochure is more informative and straightforward, but there’s interactive screens throughout that’ll give you more detail like a video on the diamond industry
  • Hit up all the museums in Antwerp! There's lots to choose from after checking out DIVA. Art lovers need to check out FOMU. If you'd rather wander the outdoors, don't miss the open-air sculpture gallery at Middelheim
