Electric Golf Carts Tour

Go green - hop in an electric golf cart and zoom through the picturesque Limburgian countryside past castles, villages, forests and a vineyard.

Here’s some sustainable sightseeing that doesn’t mean spending the day tiring yourself out on a bike. If you’re into that, then great! But if you’re looking for a fun way to enjoy the outdoors and cover as much ground as you would peddling away all day, then look no further.

Bring your friends, family and a picnic as you zoom around the countryside in your own electric golf buggy. On a full battery, these little carts let you explore 45km of Bilzen and the surrounding areas. You’ll drive through picturesque landscapes, past villages, farms, castles, forests and nature reserves. Oh, and there’s a 22-hectare vineyard you can drive through too.

Venturing out of Bilzen you can experience the undulating panoramas of Haspengouw - the “Tuscany of Limburg”. Safe to say you won’t run out of beautiful scenery on this mini road trip. Starting at Alden Biesen visitors centre, right next to the impressive Grand Commandery, hiring one of these little golf buggies means you’ll get to see the area’s tourist highlights in a fun, unique and eco-friendly way!

• Toerisme Bilzen has you covered with a variety of mapped out routes for all your sightseeing needs. The routes are 1, 2 or 4 hours in length and all feature plenty of places to stop, enjoy the sights and have a picnic.
• Speaking of food, bring your own or order a picnic package from Toerisme Bilzen, made up of locally sourced goodies. You’ll need to order them 5 days in advance of your booking and pick them up at the visitor’s reception before the start of your carting adventure.
• The experience is open from mid-March to early November each year to ensure that you’ll see the best scenery and miss the worst of the weather. Well...at the very least you’ll have the best chances of avoiding the pesky Belgian rain.
