Enjoy nature and a castle in one. Walk a 2.3km forest path or enjoy Kasteel Ravenhof on a longer cycling route.

Known for its beautiful castle and surrounding forests, Kasteel Ravenhof is a good starting point for longer hikes, bike rides or even as a walking spot by itself along its 2.3km path. The castle is closed to the public, but you’re free to walk around the 25 hectares of gardens and more.

On the very edge of the border, at Kasteel Ravenhof you’re close to the Netherlands and tons of green spaces. The castle is very close to Moretusbos, known for its cute tea dome. Tea domes (aka garden domes) were used by the rich in the Netherlands to relax and drink tea. Think fancy playhouses for adults.

  • Walking Trail: the Ravenhofpad in the castle forest is 2.3km long and beginner friendly. There’s also a wheelchair friendly version that is 1km that is also good for prams.
  • Cycling Route: the castle is one spot along an almost 13km beginner friendly bike ride from Fort van Stabroek to Kasteel Ravenhof. See the map and get those pedals going.
  • What’s the history of Kasteel Ravenhof? Well, there’s been a castle on the grounds since around the 14th century. It’s had a lot of owners over the years, including a noble family and descendants of the Moretus family (known for the Antwerp printing press).
  • Enjoy a drink and bite to eat in the historic atmosphere at the restaurant ‘t Koetshuis right in the castle grounds in the former coach house.
