Enjoy the peace and quiet at the city library. Inside a former monastery, Mechelen Library features beautiful wooden ceiling beams and tons of good books. Come here to chill and use the free WIFI or snap photos of the cool architecture.
The library still has tons of features of the monastery and even other restorations. Just look up at the ceiling in the corridor by the courtyard to see the marks of the past. Photography lovers should snap up the courtyard too.

- Kid Friendly: kids should head over to the little play area on the ground floor. There’s plenty of children’s books (in Dutch) in the library too

- By Car: No car park at the museum but Parking Tinel is nearby, open 24/7 and costs 4.80€ for 3 hours.
- By Bus: short walk away from bus stop Van Hoeystraat. Bus 1 stops here.
