Who doesn’t love a pretty Belgian castle? Castle Walzin might be closed to the public, but it’s still a great castle to see. Just a 20 minute drive from Dinant, people say it’s one of the prettiest castles in Belgium. While the castle is pretty, it’s the area around it that really sells it. See the castle on a kayak

Kayak along the river Lesse in the summer. You’ll see great views of the castle! Even if you’ve never been kayaking before, you should be fine. The river around the castle is easy going and only 60m deep. Children over the age of 5 can also kayak along so bring the family. Rent a kayak here

Some history details: Castle Walzin has been around since the 13th century. You can still see the Renaissance horseshoe tower with 4 cannon posts. The castle was actually burnt down by the French army in 1554. These days, the castle is privately owned.

  • By Car: parking at the end of Rue du Barrage.
  • By Bus: short walk from bus stop Furfooz Rue du Camps Romain. Bus 67/1 stops here
