From June 21st, summer begins and nature turns spring’s flowers into ripe, delicious berries. O’Bio’s berry farm is the place to harvest lots of berries right out of their garden.
In the summertime, you can free your mind and come on down to this urban farm self-picking garden of berries in the town of Wielsbeke. Depending on when the season begins for each fruit, the variations available to you change from week to week but will last the whole summer. Great for anybody, young or old, and especially fun for families with kids or groups of friends!
- Get to picking once you’ve gone in through the farm shop where staff will help you begin your visit with info and supplies.
- Some of the berries you can find around here are blueberries (which have the longest season), red currant, raspberries, kiwi berry and more!
- The shop farm sells some great berry products like all of their jams, and juices, but also a fabulous sparkling wine and an ice cream sorbet amongst more items.
- Snack on the berries you’ve picked and have a seat at the picnic benches in the shade and bring a packed lunch from home. The farm’s fruit juices and tea can be really refreshing after working in the sun, so be sure to give one or both a try! Top that off with some homemade artisanal ice cream or sorbet made every year on site with freshly picked fruit, and it will be the perfect summer day you won’t soon forget.
