"You’ll have to fall in love at least once in your life, or Paris has failed to rub off on you." – E.A. Bucchianeri

Whether it be in time for Valentine’s Day or you are seeking a spontaneous trip away with a partner, Paris is always a good idea! It’s fair to say that the French capital is undeniably one of the most romantic cities in the world. Whether it be the incredibly rich food, the eloquent French language or the affectionate Parisiennes, it is clear that this sparkling city exudes romance. The Eiffel Tower, The Seine and Montmartre are classic spots of idyllic locations to discover with a special someone.

On tepid evenings, couples waltz up the steps of the Sacré Coeur to watch the sun and clasp their love locks on the chains on the steps. Lovers' conversations are accompanied by buskers strumming renditions of ‘La Vie en Rose’ who wear worn wool berets. Perhaps you are reticent to demonstrate your romantic side or you’re a natural romantic; either way, you are guaranteed to fall in love with Paris.

Evening river boat ride on the Seine

1. Seine Dinner Boat

Perhaps one of the most romantic things to do in Paris is to take an evening river boat ride on the Seine. The boat sets off at the base of the Eiffel Tower, sparkling as you set sail on your evening. During your journey, you will pass a variety of famous sites whilst being served delicately crafted dishes. There is often a live signer onboard who lulls various romantic ballads to accompany your meal. Book tickets here to avoid queuing and to ensure the most romantic evening.

Soon, it became the place where French aristocracy and wealthy travellers alike came to purchase their bespoke perfumes. Officine Universelle Buly focuses on creating unique and natural scented perfumes, free from harmful chemicals. There seems like no better place to pick up your new perfume and monogrammed accessories than this antique and historical parfumerie.

3. Picnic at Jardin du Luxembourg

The Jardin du Luxembourg neighbours the Latin Quarter and various ornate buildings such as the Panthéon. On your journey to the gardens gates, pop by the local boulangerie and pick a few croissants or filled baguettes to enjoy in the scenic gardens. The sprawling jardin is filled with trees, flowers and immaculately cut lawns. There are various statues and fountains where model sailboats float atop in the height of summer. Pull up a chair (they’re free!) and watch the boats meander, whilst you tuck into your fresh french pastries. Once your hunger has been satiated, wander around the gardens, hand in hand with your lover, taking in the palace’s beautiful facade.
